Too Much Fun in the Sun

After a crazy busy week, heading to the beach on a Saturday could be the best activity to unwind and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. Perhaps, though, you spent a little too much time out in the sun and are now looking at a very red and sunburned face staring back at you in the mirror. Uh-Oh! One of our readers had a friend experience this exact problem this weekend, but with a bit of a twist. Take a look at this Facebook post from LotYaC reader, Patrick to Y&C blogger, Lyndsey. Today's Style Solution will help you find the best remedies for a sunburned, raccoon-face nightmare.

Like Lyndsey suggested, it is important to make sure the sunburn is moisturized with a mild lotion. Aloe should be a key ingredient in this step, unless you choose to use a sunburn reducer that is 100% aloe. Also, a very important beauty secret that should be kept in your arsenal is that green pigments reduce facial redness. Using products such as Eucerin Redness Relief Daily Perfecting Lotion with SPF 15 or Physician's Formula Powder Finish Concealer Stick with SPF 15 (green), both with the important SPF 15, will help to make the redness disappear.

However, avoiding the sunburn is the absolute best plan of action. When out in the sun, be sure to apply, and reapply sunblock with an SPF 15 or higher especially during midday when the sun is at its peak (10am-4pm). Also, be sure to wear sunglasses that provide UV Ray protection to keep eyes from sun damage. For more Summer Sun facts, check out WebMD.
